Traveling can be difficult. Like, really difficult. All of a sudden you are thrown into a world different than your own, and you have to figure out how to navigate without a compass. Traveling can leave you tired, lonely and sometimes even afraid. But there’s a reason why people do it – traveling is growing. Traveling is learning. Traveling is confidence and adventure and understanding. It shows you how big the world really is – that there are cultures functioning in society different than your own. And that’s why we do it. That’s why we pack up our life into a little suitcase and plane / train / automobile to far-away places, and watch the world grow before our eyes.
Allow me to introduce myself – My name is Bella. I am 21 years old and I am from the United States of America, more specifically the lovely state of Missouri (located in what we call the Midwest – the very center of the United States.) Even more specifically I am from Kansas City – a great city to visit if you are ever in the States. I attend school at the University of Missouri where I am studying journalism. I am here in Barcelona for the semester (January until May) where I will be interning at HelloBCN Hostel.
