Guide to Sustainable Travel: The Metro

THE METRO

One of the simplest ways to travel sustainably is by using resources that Barcelona offers. The Metro is the perfect example of this.

The Metro is Barcelona’s public transit and an excellent, easy AND eco-friendly way to get around.

And.. you save money on taxis.

It’s a win-win.

You’re sold! How do I start?

1. Find a metro

  • The closest metro stop from HelloBCN is Paral-lel, a short 3-minute walk.

2. Find a ticket kiosk

3. Choose your ticket

  • T-Dia Ticket: Unlimited use of metro for one day €8,60
  • Hola BCN! Ticket: Unlimited use of metro for 2 days (15€), 3 days (22€), 4 days (28,50€), 5 days (35€)
  • T-Casual Ticket: Includes 10 trips 11,35€

Important!

These puppies are PAPER. Keep your ticket safe and away from evil things that can smash them, like the bottom of backpacks and small children.

If your ticket does happen to rip due to a temper tantrum (by you or a small child), it won’t insert correctly.

No worries, there’s an easy fix. Go to any information desk, present your crumpled, sad card and they’ll switch out your ticket. Free of charge.

If your ticket gets lost, there isn’t a way to trace the purchase back to you & you won’t receive a refund :(.

Bottom line- refer to the “You Know I Keep That Thang On Me” vine.

Enjoy your travels,

HelloBCN & Lexi
